All monitor tests

Run the quick test above, or open each test solo — every test has its own settings panel, fullscreen mode, and keyboard shortcuts.

Dead pixel test

Custom color sequence, cycle speed, and keyboard navigation for stuck and dead pixel checks.

Uniformity test

Custom grey fields, grid overlay, and crosshair for vignette and tint checks.

Backlight bleed

Bleed-focused preset — pure black fields with grid overlay for IPS glow.

Color calibration

White balance D50–D75, 24-patch color checker, and skin tone references for display color accuracy.

Gradients & banding

RGB and grey ramps with step count, direction, and bit-depth controls for banding checks.

Monitor ghosting test

UFO-style motion patterns for screen ghosting, motion blur, and inverse ghosting.

Refresh rate

Live Hz sampling with adjustable chart, spike threshold, and motion block speeds.

Resolution checker

Resolution, viewport, DPR, color depth, and HDR capability readout.

Screen size calculator

PPI and physical width/height from diagonal inches and resolution.

Aspect ratio calculator

Simplify ratios, resolve missing sides, and compare common formats.

Burn-in test

Sliding bars, checkerboard, and gradient sweeps with adjustable speed and cycle time.

HDR test

Reference white patches with live HDR detection and customizable patch sequence.

Color blindness test

Fullscreen hue-separation plates and red-green / blue-yellow pairs — a screen color check for UI and panels.

RGB channels

Pure primaries, per-channel ramps, and repeating RGB bars for subpixel isolation.

Flicker / PWM

Free monitor flicker test online — PWM, OLED, and screen strobe checks at low brightness.

Crosshair / alignment

Precision dot, geometry, and alignment cross for monitor center and overscan checks.

Sharpness & text

Pixel grids, fine lines, multi-font text samples, and subpixel rulers for clarity checks.

Screen tearing

Fast-scrolling stripes to detect VSync-off tearing and verify G-Sync or FreeSync.

Color gamut (sRGB / P3)

Side-by-side sRGB and Display P3 patches to verify wide-gamut coverage.

Blooming / halos

Bright highlights on black for local-dimming bloom and HDR halation checks.

Viewing angle

Grey ramps, primaries, and skin tones with guided off-axis position prompts.

How to use the display test center

Open a dedicated test, adjust its panel, then inspect in fullscreen — no install required.

  1. Step 1

New monitor? Tick all 13 quick-test boxes and press Start — pixels, bleed, ghosting, and color run back-to-back in one fullscreen pass.

  2. Step 2

Open any test card — adjust settings in the panel, then press Start or click the preview for fullscreen.

  3. Step 3

Use arrow keys and F on most tests to cycle patterns and toggle fullscreen without leaving the test surface.

Why use display tests?

Each check targets a different panel flaw — pick the right tool instead of one generic slideshow.

Dead pixel test

Custom color sequence with adjustable cycle speed — the dedicated dead pixel test replaces basic solid-color cycling with full control.

Panel uniformity

Grey fields, grid overlay, and crosshair for backlight bleed, vignette, and tint — with a bleed-focused preset on its own route.

Full monitor QA

Gradients, ghosting, refresh rate, HDR, and burn-in tests each expose useful parameters so you can inspect like ScreenTester without leaving the browser.

Monitor test center FAQs

What is a screen test?

A screen test displays solid colors or diagnostic patterns on your monitor, laptop, phone, or tablet so you can inspect pixels, contrast, and color accuracy. TestMyGears runs a free screen test in your browser — no app or download required.

How do I run a dead pixel test?

Open the Dead pixel test card — select colors, set cycle speed, press Start, and enter fullscreen. Arrow keys cycle colors; F toggles fullscreen.

How do I run a stuck pixel test?

Open the Dead pixel test, enable black in your color list, enter fullscreen, and inspect for bright dots. Any dot that stays lit on pure black is likely a stuck subpixel.

How do I test my LCD screen?

Use the dead pixel test for pixel defects, uniformity test for tint and bleed, and gradient or greyscale tests for banding. Each dedicated page has its own settings panel.

Is this a monitor test?

Yes. This is a free online monitor test covering dead pixels, stuck pixels, gamma ramps, contrast splits, brightness gradients, and motion patterns — the same checks used when reviewing a new display.

What is a display test?

A display test uses reference colors and patterns to inspect pixels, uniformity, motion, and refresh rate. TestMyGears splits each check into a dedicated page with its own customization panel.

How can I check my display?

Start at this test center, pick the check you need, adjust settings in the side panel, and use fullscreen for a clean test surface. The suggested workflow covers new-monitor QA in six ordered steps.

Is this the same as UFO Test?

TestMyGears offers similar dead pixel test and monitor test patterns to UFO Test — solid colors, gradients, and motion tests — but runs entirely in your browser with no separate download.

Can I test my phone or OLED screen?

Yes. Open the Dead pixel test on your phone, tap Start, and enter fullscreen. Pure black reveals stuck pixels on OLED; pure white reveals dark dead pixels.
